I’m sooooooooo bummed!! February 7, 2007

The scrapbooking forum where I got my first Design Team position has closed! To make matters worst, it closed while I was a member of the Design Team. I’m so sad about it. We’ve been noticing a decline in numbers more and more over the past couple of months and we REALLY tried to get the excitement going again; hosting a huge crop, having Guest Design Team Member each month, offering little incentives, but nothing seemed to work.

The owner thought it was more fesible (financially) to close it down and focus her time more to her store and the blog for her store. Which, I CAN understand since she really was not reaping any financial benefits from the forum.

I’m just really saddened because it was my very first scrapbooking forum I ever joined and it was the very first one to give me a chance to prove myself as a Design Team member.

I will miss everyone at Scrapbooking Swede and I do hope that we can stay in touch someway, somehow.

Ta-ta for now!

SCRAP CENTRAL!!!! February 1, 2007

The LAUNCH of this fabulous new concept in Scrapbooking forums. Here is a quote taken directly from the ScrapCentral Blog

“So is everyone ready for a party? We have all kinds of surprises in store for our big launch. It will be a weekend long party, from Feb.2-4! Prizes, contests, challenges, games, and a whole lot of fun! So what is ScrapCentral? Gosh, what isn’t it! It is a resource center for scrapbookers. First, it is members only. Everything can only be accessed if you are a member. We do offer one full week to preview, but I am sure you will want to join! Of course there will be a community, and gallery, but we have a few other things that are totally unique. Never took the time to submit your layouts before, or when you do it is time consuming? Then let us do it for you! Simply upload your layout to the gallery, fill out one form, and we will do the rest! Your creation will be sent to all the major magazines.”

So just one more day and all the excitement begins!! Oh, yeah, I almost forgot, I’m also on the DT there! YAHOO!!!!

Thanks to Bobbi-Lynn and her fabulous friends for coming up with the concept of this amazing new community!!

Altered Canvas!! February 1, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — susancoish @ 12:52 am
Ok, this is what I’ve been up to lately! I absolutely LOVE making these altered canvases! They are so versatile and you can create them any size. I can use one photo or 5 and any type of pattern looks great on them. This partucular canvas I created for a DT project for Small Scraps. It’s created using KI Memories holiday collection. I kept it very simple, by just adding some lettering and my own doodling (which you know I HAVE to add). The photos I took during a beautiful fall afternoon out at the park. The inked look on the canvas was created by using FiberScrapsE-Z Walnut Ink.

This next Canvas is a smaller one, created just for fun one day when I was bored (or didn’t want to study, probably). I used a smaller canvas, inked in using my Stampin’ Up brown ink. Then I used SEI pattern paper to brighten it up. I took two photos of my two beautiful little girlies, added some embellishments and voila!! Another Altered canvas completed!
Thanks so much for looking!!
